Kyle Washington

Executive Chairman, CopperLion Capital

Based in Vancouver, Kyle is the Co-Chairman of Seaspan Corporation (NYSE: SSW), an international containership company and the Executive Chairman of the Seaspan Marine Corporation. Between 1994 and 2007 Kyle became a member of the management team, and subsequently Executive Chairman of Washington Marine Group, where he was responsible for overall corporate strategy and was active in developing senior level customer, supplier and government relationships. In 2009, Kyle returned as a Director and Executive Chairman of Seaspan Marine Corporation (formerly Washington Marine Group) and was appointed as a Director of Envirocon, Inc., Modern Machinery Co., Inc., Montana Rail Link, Inc., Montana Resources, Inc. and Southern Railway of British Columbia, Ltd., all of which are within the Washington Companies

Kyle was an ambassador to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and is an active supporter of the Young Life Organization and other charities. He is a graduate of the University of Montana with a degree in Business Administration.

Byron has a broad background in private equity investing, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions, having made private equity investments, executed divestitures and acquisitions and completed financings in a number of diverse sectors. Previously, Byron worked as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch & Co. (Global Industries Group) and CIBC World Markets (Industrial Group) in New York and at Ernst & Young in Vancouver. Prior to working on Wall Street, Byron worked at Lawson Lundell LLP in Vancouver and was called to the Bar of British Columbia.

Byron's private equity experience includes investing over $100 million of equity or mezzanine debt in the transportation, logistics and commercial real estate sectors. Byron's M&A experience includes advising public and private clients on takeover bids, share and asset sales, fairness opinions, special committee, going private and minority investment transactions with aggregate transaction values of over $30 billion. Byron's financing experience includes advising on equity, income trust and debt financing assignments raising aggregate proceeds of over $10 billion.

Byron is a CFA Charterholder and holds an MBA from the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business, an LL.B from the University of Toronto Law School, an MA from the University of British Columbia, a C.E.P. from L'Institut D'Etudes Politiques de Paris, and a BA from Carleton University.

Byron is a member and part of management of Container Ventures LLC and serves as a board member of bioLytical Laboratories and the Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver and holds the ICD.D. designation from the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors.
